The Convergent Defense Foundation ("the foundation", "we") is a Section 8 company in India. This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website and how we use it, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
- Browsing this site. The site has no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to run and protect the service.
- Emails you send us. If you write to [email protected], we keep your name, email address and what you tell us so we can reply.
- Donations. Donations are processed by Razorpay. We receive your name, email address, phone number, the amount, and any details you enter on the payment form, such as which programme it is for. Your card, bank and UPI details go to Razorpay and its banking partners only. We never see or store them.
How we use it
- to process donations, send receipts and handle refunds;
- to reply to your messages;
- to keep the accounting records the law requires; and
- to tell you how your donation was used, if you ask us to.
We don't sell or rent your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share it only with:
- Razorpay, to process payments; its own privacy policy also applies to what you enter in its checkout;
- our email and hosting providers, who process data on our behalf; and
- auditors or authorities, when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep donation records as long as Indian tax and company law requires, usually eight years. We delete emails that aren't linked to a donation or an ongoing project once they're no longer needed.
Your rights
You can ask us for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it. You can also withdraw your consent to further contact at any time. Email [email protected] and we'll reply within 72 hours.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update it on this page and change the date at the top.
